In the United States, you have the absolute right to remain silent when you are being accused by law enforcement of having committed a crime. Before a law enforcement officer can conduct a custodial interrogation of you, regarding what happened in a certain criminal case, they’re required to read you your Miranda warnings, which essentially say that you are entitled to have an attorney present before you give any types of statement and that you have an absolute right to remain silent. We recommend that you invoke your Miranda rights at all times and never give an interrogation to law enforcement.
